I wouldn't know if there are all-in-one batchfiles that take care of this kind of conversion. Talking about DV 07.06 MKV remux, of course the subtitles would already be in PGS format. Generally, mkv is able to carry much more types and often subtitle conversion is required. Eac3to is a tool that can do this.Īs for subtitles, BDMV only accepts PGS streams (SUP). So, you have to convert TrueHD into "TrueHD+AC3". But there are (UHD) bluray players that behave tightly to official specs and will simply refuse TrueHD playback when the embedded AC3 is missing. Eventhough latest tsMuxer is able to mux a single TrueHD track withing BDMV, I would not recommend this. (UHD)BD needs a mandatory embedded AC3 track for TrueHD. In mkv, Dolby TrueHD (with or without Atmos) holds no embedded AC3 track. You can leave it untouched within the EL.Īudio may also need some work. As you are converting from P7 to P7, profile stays the same so RPU editing is not necessary. When you have these layers separate, you can import them in tsMuxer for DV profile 7 creation. For mkv conversion to BDMV this means that the videostream in the mkv has to be demuxed into separate BL and EL streams. There are several tools out there that will 'remux' the tracks into an MP4, without changing the tracks. In BDMV there are two videotracks, each holding one layer (dualtrack duallayer). Mkv holds both layers in one videotrack (singletrack duallayer). Of course the main beef would be Dolby Vision video. Most important thing is to have knowledge about the structural differences between the containers, their compliant elementary streams and how Dolby Vision is stored differently within each of them. You can now test your mkv file using any player that supports that format and then use it as you please.I wouldn't know what the "recommended method" would be. You should delete all the files tsMuxeR created as you no longer need them. A few minutes later you will have an mkv file containing the exact video and audio streams of your Blu-ray disc. Step 7įeel free to add the correct language to any other audio or subtitle tracks you may have and when you are ready Browse (1) to set the output filename and click Start muxing (2) in order to start the process. Here you need to add the FPS value exactly as the one you wrote down at Step 2. Select the video track (3), set the language (4) and then click the Format specific options (5) tab. Step 5įirst of all, we need to set as input all the files that tsMuxeR created, so click add (1) and select all the files that we demuxed before (2). Next step is to create our mkv file, so run mkvmerge GUI (named mmg.exe in the archive you have downloaded). When it is done, click OK and close tsMuxeR. This process will take from about 45 to 90 minutes, depending on the speed of your Blu-ray drive and the size of the disc. TsMuxeR will now copy the tracks you have selected to your hard drive. Then set output to Demux (3) and after you set the location of the output files, click Start demuxing (4). Select the main video track, the audio that you want to keep and any subtitles (2) you may need later on. Now we have our main movie loaded and ready for extraction. tsMuxeR will automatically load all the m2ts files assosiated with it. To start, add (1) the playlist file that we have already found in BDInfo. Now, leave BDInfo open and run tsMuxeR Step 3 I urge you to download the software, use it and report any errors you encounter to me. Since May 1st 2003, the Matroska libraries themselves and my Matroska tools are officially available. Make sure that in the various video and audio streams area (4) you right down the fps value of the video, in this example 23.976. MKVToolNix is a set of tools to create, alter and inspect Matroska files under Linux, other Unices and Windows. In normal Blu-rays you will only have one big playlist and one m2ts file. That is why we have one bigger playlist, and another one a bit smaller. In this example, our Blu-ray uses seamless branching, in plain words it has a "Director's Cut" feature and it uses various smaller m2ts files (3) you can see in the list below. Check out which playlist contains the movie (2), obviously the one with the biggest length and check its name. Browse (1) and select the BDMV folder in your Blu-ray disc. Using this application we will determine in which files the main movie is and what streams we need. It will do all its work on the background. You could also try using handbrake with libdvdcss. You can download it here or check the authors page here. stargatesuite Member Sep 2006 United States I just googled your error and this was what came up for a solution: Try ripping with DVDFab or AnyDVD HD. I really suggest you let AnyDVD HD do that job. Before you start processing your disc you need to use an unlocking software to circumvent the Blu-ray's protection.
